Account Deletion

We respect your right to control your data. You can request deletion of your NewKhata account and all associated data at any time using either of the methods below.

How to Delete Your Account

Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

The fastest way to delete your account is directly within the NewKhata app:

  1. Open the NewKhata app on your device
  2. Go to the Profile section
  3. Select "Delete My Data" option
  4. Follow the on-screen confirmation steps
  5. Your account and data will be deleted immediately

Method 2: Email Request

You can also request account deletion by contacting us via email:

  1. Send an email to newkhataapp@gmail.com
  2. Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
  3. Include your registered email address in the message
  4. We will process your request within 30 days

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:

  • ✓ Your email address and authentication information
  • ✓ All transaction records (debts and credits)
  • ✓ All contact/people information
  • ✓ Transaction history and filtering preferences
  • ✓ All backup data stored in Firebase Cloud Storage
  • ✓ Profile information and app preferences
  • ✓ Any images or attachments associated with transactions

⚠️ Important

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once deleted, you will not be able to recover your transaction history or any other data.

Data Retention Period

Immediate Deletion: When you use the in-app deletion feature, your data is deleted from our servers immediately.

Email Requests: If you request deletion via email, we will process your request and delete all data within 30 days of receiving your request.

Legal Compliance: Some limited information may be retained for legal compliance purposes (such as fraud prevention or legal requirements) for up to 90 days, but this will not include your personal transaction data or personally identifiable information.

After Deletion

After your account is deleted:

  • You will no longer be able to sign in to NewKhata
  • All your data will be permanently removed from our servers
  • You can create a new account at any time, but previous data cannot be recovered
