- Account Information: Email address when you sign in with Google or other authentication providers
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, and device identifiers for backup synchronization across devices
Financial Data
- Transaction Records: Records of financial transactions you enter
- Person/Contact Details: Names and contact information you enter for transaction parties
- Financial Calculations: Balances and other calculated financial information
How We Use Your Information
We use your information for:
- Providing Core Functionality: Managing your transaction records and calculations
- Backup & Synchronization: Backing up your data to our secure servers (only when you explicitly request backup)
- Service Improvement: Analyzing app usage patterns to improve functionality (anonymized)
- Support: Addressing your questions and troubleshooting issues
Data Storage & Security
Local Storage
- Your transaction data is primarily stored locally on your device using secure storage methods
- Local data is encrypted using industry-standard encryption
Cloud Backup
- Your data is backed up to Firebase only when you initiate a backup
- All cloud data is encrypted during transmission and at rest
- We maintain 60 days of transaction history in backups
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. Your information may be shared only in the following circumstances:
- With your explicit consent
- To comply with legal obligations
- With service providers who assist us in operating our service (like Firebase)
Your Data Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your data and account
- Export your data
- Opt-out of backups
Account Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time. We provide two methods for account deletion:
Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)
- Open the NewKhata app
- Go to the Profile section
- Select "Delete My Data"
- Read the warning carefully
- Confirm your deletion request
- Your account and all data will be immediately deleted
Method 2: Email Request
- Send an email to newkhataapp@gmail.com
- Subject: "Account Deletion Request"
- Include your registered email address
- We will process your request within 30 days
What Data Will Be Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:
- Your email address and authentication information
- All transaction records (debts and credits)
- All contact/people information
- Transaction history and filtering preferences
- All backup data stored in Firebase Cloud Storage
- Profile information and app preferences
- Any images or attachments associated with transactions
Data Retention After Deletion
- Immediate Deletion: In-app deletion removes your data from our servers immediately
- Email Requests: Processed within 30 days of receiving your request
- Legal Compliance: Some limited information may be retained for legal compliance purposes (such as fraud prevention) for up to 90 days, but this will not include your personal transaction data
⚠️ Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once deleted, you cannot recover your transaction history or any other data.
Data Retention
- Local data: Stored until you delete it from your device
- Backup data: We retain your most recent backup data until you delete your account
Children's Privacy
Our App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
